No Cell from Bell to Bell – Let’s Keep Learning First To help keep our classrooms focused and in compliance with new state law, we’re updating our expectations for student cell phone use this school year: ✅ Grades K–8: Students must keep personal electronic devices off and stored for the entire school day, from the first bell to dismissal. ✅ Grades 9–12: Students must keep devices off and put away during instructional time. Devices may be used before and after school, during lunch, and between classes. Headphones, AirPods, and earbuds may not be worn during the school day unless approved by the principal or bus driver. For safety, only one earbud may be used if permitted. Together, let’s keep learning front and center. For full details and FAQs, visit: https://www.putnamschools.org/page/no-cell-from-bell-to-bell #NoCellFromBellToBell #ProudtobePCSD Check out our website at: ccjshs@putnamschools.org

🎉 Team, Good morning! We hope you all are doing well and getting some rest. There have been a couple of things that have popped up over the past couple of days in which we wanted to share with everyone. First and foremost, congratulations to everyone as we improved our school grade! We attained 55% of the total points (C Grade), which means we are a mere 2 percentage points (24 total points) away from achieving the first of many goals (B School). However, there are reasons to celebrate. We have earned 604 total points, which is the highest in our school's history since the state of Florida started with the 11 category grading component! Our Math achievement increased from the previous year by 6%. Our ELA achievement increased 14%! Based upon our school grade, we have 49% of our students at a level 3 or higher. Our ELA Learning Gains increased 13%! Based upon that data, we had 57% of our students make a statewide learning gain. The learning gains with our lowest 25% in ELA increased by 6%! Over 54% of our bottom quartile students made a learning gain. Our Social Studies achievement, which is a combination of our 7th Grade Civics achievement and our 11th Grade US History achievement, increased by 7%. Our Civics Achievement score of 71% is the highest we have ever had since the Civics EOC has taken place in the state of Florida! Our Middle School Acceleration increased by 11%! It is now at 73%. The College and Career Acceleration Component based upon each senior cohort lags a year. So as a part of our school grade, that component for this year's school grade was at 52%. This is a 6% increase from the prior year. However, as of right now, this component will be at 67% or higher for next year's school grade component. We are still awaiting Cambridge scores that come in on the 2nd day of the new school year for students. So there is a possibility that we could increase that score. Stay tuned. Finally, we received word last night that based upon the Federal Index of our Subgroups, we have achieved something that hasn't been done in over 15 years......we have NO SUBGROUPS scoring below the Federal Index of 41%!!!! Congratulations to our community, our students, as well as to our faculty, and staff.

Class of 2026 Senior Photos
At today's School Board Meeting, we witnessed a powerful moment of gratitude as Chuck McGuire, a dedicated educator at CCJSHS, honored two colleagues who saved his life. On March 14th, after experiencing a sudden medical emergency, Chuck was cared for by Mrs. Susannah Bender and Mr. Tim Adams. Their quick thinking and calm response ensured he received the medical attention he needed—saving his life. Today, Chuck’s children helped present certificates of appreciation to Mr. Adams and Mrs. Bender, a powerful reminder of the impact we can have on each other’s lives. Please help us thank these everyday heroes! #ProudtobePCSD
