About Interact

What is Interact?
Interact is a club for youth ages 12-18 who want to connect with others in their community or school. Interact club members have fun while carrying out service projects and learning about the world. Interact clubs organize at least two service projects a year: one that benefits their community and one that encourages international understanding. While Interact clubs receive guidance from individual Rotary clubs, they govern and support themselves.

Purpose and Goals
The purpose of Interact is to provide opportunity for young people to work together in a world fellowship dedicated to service and international understanding.

The goals of Interact are:

  • To recognize and develop constructive leadership and personal integrity.

  • To encourage and practice thoughtfulness of and helpfulness to others.

  • To create an awareness of the importance of home and family.

  • To build respect for the rights of others, based on recognition of the worth of each individual.

  • To emphasize acceptance of individual responsibility as the basis of personal success, community improvement, and group achievement.

  • To develop life skills including self development, time management, and personal finances.

  • To recognize the dignity and value of all useful occupations as opportunities to serve society.

  • To provide opportunities for gaining increased knowledge and understanding of community, national, and world affairs.

  • To open avenues of personal and group action leading to the advancement of international understanding and goodwill toward all peoples.

He Profits Most Who Serves Best (Rotary)

Motto
Service above Self

Objectives:

  • To develop initiative and leadership.

  • To provide experience in living and working together.

  • To serve the school and community.

  • To cooperate with the school principal.

  • To prepare for useful citizenship.

  • To accept and promote the following ideals:

To give primacy to the human and spiritual, rather than to the material values of life.

To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.

To promote the adoption and application of higher standards in scholarship, sportsmanship and social contacts.

To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and serviceable citizenship.

To provide a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render unselfish service and to build better communities.

To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which makes possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism and good will.
